1. What type or retailer are you?
Hobbywoods.com has its own online store and is
also a "showcase retailer." Hobbywoods, itself, sells turning
squares, pen blanks, carving wood, and odd pieces of exotic and domestic wood.
We also sell marquetry kits, clock kits, and a few other items. However,
to make your shopping experience richer, we partner with other online
retailers and display their products. The advantage to you is that when
you visit our site, you have access to a wide range of woodworking, wood
craft, and DIY products from several different retailers at once.
2. Does the retail partner charge me extra
because I have shopped through your site?
Absolutely not! You pay the same
price. The retail partner's profit margins on any product are the same
whether you shop through our site or directly on theirs.
3. What's in it for Hobbywoods.com to
partner with a retailer?
We receive a small commission from the retail
partner only if you actually purchase from them through visiting our
site. This does not increase the price you pay for the product.
4. What are your guarantees?
Please see our return
policy for items that are directly sold by Hobbywoods. Though we
have no control over the policies and practices of our retail partners, we
only partner with established retailers who have secure ordering, a clear
return policy, and a clear policy about your privacy and who offer exceptional
quality products at fair market prices. As with any online retailer, it
is your responsibility to check their policies before ordering.
5. What if I have a problem with a product I
purchased? Who stands behind it?
If you have a problem with an item that you
purchased directly from Hobbywoods, please contact us
immediately so that we may help you. If you purchased a product from
one of our retail partners, you must contact them. The purchase contract
is between you and them. Our legal responsibility ends as soon as you
leave our site and shop on theirs. However, if you have difficulty
resolving a product issue, we may assist you if we determine that it is
necessary to intervene on your behalf. To date, however, we have never
had a product problem or issue that was not quickly resolved by our retail
partners. They are quality retailers.
6. Why don't you have prices on all your
products?
We don't control any of the pricing policies of
our retail partners. Prices change frequently. Most of the time we
leave the pricing to the retail partner.
7. How safe is it for me to give you my name
for your mailing list?
We take every reasonable precaution to protect
your privacy. Please see our privacy policy.
There is a possibility that you will not receive our mailing list because of
your SPAM filters. Let us know if this is a problem.
8. Do you have a SPAM policy?
Yes, we do! You will never receive SPAM
from us. We hate SPAM and know you do too. We never engage in any
kind of SPAM campaign under any circumstances. That's are promise to
you.
9. Do you have a catalog?
No, Hobbywoods does not have a catalog or a
price list. We only offer Rockler's catalog.
10. Can I pay for Hobbywoods' products with
a charge card?
Yes, we accept MasterCard, VISA, and
Discover. Most wood orders must be placed over the phone using our
toll free number. We are slowly adding items to a new secure
shopping cart for online orders of some pen blanks, kits and CD's.
